I used a little less liquid and it was the best anyone at the party ever tasted. I now have a deal with my wife's fisherman uncle for a straight swap - His incredible Ceviche for my Chili. Pretty sweet deal.

This recipe must be misnamed. Real Texas Chili never contains tomatoes. And, no way would it have cinnamon in it. At least there were on beans in it.

I really enjoyed cooking this chili. My family and I both loved the flavors and I also feed my sons friends the next day and they all loved it. I am from the south and have never cooked an elaborate chili as this but was well worth the time and ingredients. Will definately cook it again.

I found this recipe to use up a huge official Texas BBQ Brisket bought at auction (we do that around here. I cooked everything up front, used some extra chili powder, and vegetable broth, then added the brisket, and it made a fabulous chili. Of course, in Texas, there was our constant debate about beans or no beans. God forbid my Yankee nature wanted to add macaroni too but left it plain and simple... don't tell anyone!

A lot of ingredients, which tells you it is very flavorful. Takes some some time to make but is fun to make. Have made it three times and we love it!

Based on the other reviews, I know I'm in the minority when I say I really didn't care for this chili! I followed the instructions to the letter, and what I got in the end was a bland stew that tasted only of tomatoes and beef. Was I not supposed to add the juices/puree that the tomatoes came in?

Off the Hook! It was a winner and fun to make. Never made one quite like this before where you mash up the meat, but it was a fun twist. Be prepared for Caliente! Thanks Tyler! Judy

I have made this twice and both times it was so good. This is a family favorite for us. The taste is so flavorful even the little ones that we had here like it.
