We have a local mexican restaurant that makes the BEST shaken margarita. We haven't been able to duplicate it until we found this recipe. It's fantastic. Especially if you're not a fan of the margarita mixers. We did not add the beer. Might try next time.

Awesome! By far the best margarita I've had! I used Patron Cittronage for the orange liquor and then Durango triple sec and gold tequila and it was delish. I also used Mich Gold Light as that was what I had and they turned out marvelous. I blended them, also. Try it and you'll love it!

I made these last night for Cinco De Mayo, but it was a little off. The sugar didn't dissolve, and just sat at the bottom of the pitcher, and I used Corona, which made it a little light. I think next time I'll use a finer sugar. Does anybody have a suggestion on what brand of beer would be best? I realize the recipe says "lager" but I'm not sure what that is.

Great flavor, goes down easy. Warning, one is enough. My husband and I enjoyed it so much he had me mix up a second batch, which we drank.... Lucky for us we were at home enjoying a great Tyler meal along with this tasty beverage because when we woke up the next morning, we discovered the shower curtain pulled down and neither of us could remember doing it. Too funny.
    Enjoy One, it's a great drink .

My fiance and I made this because we were looking for a different recipe for margaritas!!! What a surprise. Only thing, they are strong so please drink with caution. We had one and that was PLENTY! As usual Tyler is wonderful with food/drinks!

You are right! This is the best margarita I have ever had. My 70 year old mother even went back for seconds! It packs a kick so go easy and enjoy!

This was perfect without the sugar. If you are not a beer fan, you can leave that out as well.
