I love this recipe! Have made it several times. I find that I need to bake the potatoes at least 1 hr. prior to adding the bananas.

I've made this dish for the last two years and we absolutely love it! I did reduce the number of bananas in the dish and and I took out the honey and replaced it with sugar substitute. we love this as a cold dessert as well. I was thinking about putting it a graham cracker crust too serve this year! I love this.....

We made this for the first time a few years ago and it's been a favorite every year. I find that I need to roast the sweet potatoes for about an hour before adding the bananas in order to get them soft enough. Everything else is perfection!

Maybe I'm just a sweet potato purist, but the banana completely overpowers the dish.

Maybe it's just improperly named. If it were called Roasted bananas with whipped sweet potatoes and honey we'd know what to expect.

I made this dish for Christmas (4 people and it was received okay. Some thought it was too sweet (per other reviews, I used less bananas and some said they were great. I say go for it...but use less banana.

I've never liked sweet potatoes but this was so good! It was very simple to make, I did however make a little more of the topping. It got mixed reviews with the family, my mom didn't care much for the banana flavor but I feel thats what made it so fantastic! If your at all a banana lover you must try this recipe!

I made these for Thanksgiving and some liked it, some didn't. I thought it was pretty good, although the bananas were too sweet to eat a very large portion...I agree that it was like a dessert. The one thing everyone liked was the topping, which was awesome, but I think the banana/sweet potato combination is something that you love or hate. With less bananas I can see it being suited for a variety of palates, but I think I'll just use the topping in the future.

I made this for my husband and he and I both LOVED it!!! Yes, the potatos take longer then 45 minutes to cook, but so worth the time. I will use this as our new Thanksgiving sweet potato dish. Thanks Tyler, all your recipes ROCK

This dish turned out very well. We love the combo of bananas and sweet potatoes. I made a couple of tweaks. I used maple syrup instead of honey and I added a teaspoon of vanilla. It really brought out the banana flavor. I added dried plantains to decorate the top. I seasoned them with the pecan mixture first and put them on the top as a garnish along with the pecans. Really excellent.

If you don't like sweet potatoes and love bananas this is the dish for you. All you could taste was the banana. I got as far as mixing the two together before pitching it out and making my old standby of thick peeled slices of sweet potato with a drizzle of honey a sprinkle of salt & brown sugar and a gob of butter on each...yum
