This recipe has become a new Thanksgiving tradition in our house. The bananas add a tangy flavor to the sweet potatoes which is a wonderful contrast to the thick sweet and crunchy topping. It's sweet without being sickening sweet and is filling and satisfying. I do add some cinnamon to the topping and sometimes to the potatoes, too. Delicious!

I have used a version of this recipe of my sister's mother-in-laws for years and my kids won't let me ever skip it. I would like to add that if you are preparing ahead to cook later (even if it is only 30 minute later cover tightly and securely with saran wrap by pressing down onto the mixture to keep out all air and then refrigerate. This will keep from getting an ugly brown.

Great recipe! Make this and nobody will ask for marshmallows on top ever again. But it is very sweet//tastes like dessert. For a simpler and healthier option try Ellie Krieger's Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Honey. Make those for dinner parties all the time-Very simple, inexpensive, and delicious and everybody asks for recipe.

Fantastic! I made this with walnuts, and added a fair amount of cinnamon. Next time I will try adding a little nutmeg. I doubled this for a potluck, and the dish was almost licked clean before anything else was barely touched! Several people asked for the recipe, which will be a part of all my family's holiday dinners from now on!

I seem to make a new recipe for sweet potatoes every year for Thanksgiving. This year is different as I will be making Tyler's recipe again! Simply decadent! Everyone just loved it last year. The bananas really make the difference. Definitely comfort food!

I have been making Tyler's dish for the past several years. This recipe is such a crowd pleaser and it's super easy to make! My guests are always blown away- so much so that I make a double batch!! The only thing I do differently is add a pinch of nutmeg.

I have made this for Thanksgiving for the past 6 years and everyone always comments on how much they like it. Great recipe and very different from the usual marshmallow topped cassarole.

Waay too sweet! And the bananas were over-powering! The list of ingredients sounds so good, so I made it again. This time I used half the number of bananas. Same result. Tastes like baked banana, not sweet potato. There is no way I will ever make this again.

I made these for Thanksgiving and they were a definite hit. I'm not a big sweet potato fan but I really enjoyed these with the hint of bananas was so delicious.
