My family is used to me showing up with a new recipe every year. They thought the sweet potato-banana idea sounded good. I knew when I was putting this together that the sweet potato banana ratio didn't seem right. I stopped with three bananas. The only one in the family who liked it was my son's mother-in-law who admittedly cannot taste. We saved a few leftovers for her and the rest when into the trash can. My family is still in shock! I rarely throw food away.

This is an outstanding sweet potato recipe. My husband saw Tyler preparing it last year, and asked for the dish on Thanksgiving. It was a huge success, and has beaten out all other sweet potato variations that were served at our Thanksgiving table.
I do add cinnamon and nutmeg to the sweet potato/banana mixture to pop the flavors a bit more.
This recipe, along with all the other "Ultimate" Tyler Florence recipes, is a sure fire hit!!!

I made this for Thanksgiving last year and due to popular demand, I am making it again this year. My children have nut allergies so I crushed up some ginger snaps instead of using the nuts for the topping. Everyone loved it. ( I did tweak it a little by adding some more spices and something else, but I can't remember what so I have to try it again this year! I generally hate sweet potatoes, but really enjoyed this. Everyone thought this was a keeper!

I love the roasted bananas with the sweet potatoes. I cut back on the butter, substituted maple syrup for the honey (because that's all I had, but other than that, followed the recipe. I do think that the sweet potatoes could have cooked a little longer, to soften them more (depends on how fat they are.
I will make this recipe again and again, and share it with friends.

Sorry, this was a loser. The sweet potatoes need to be cooked much longer, maybe 3 hrs. It also needed some cream or another liquid to moisten it up. The paring of s.p. and bananas was interesting but apples would be better IMHO.
I won't make this again.

This was such an easy dessert to prepare ahead of time. The creamy mixture with the delightful nutty topping has just replaced our families traditional sweet potatoe dessert for Thanksgiving.

I am not typically a fan of sweet potatoes, but this dish changes the rules!
