OH MY GOSH! This dish is soooo good! It was a big hit at our Thanksgiving dinner. I've never really been a big fan of sweet potatotes, but my husband likes them, so they are a must at our Thanksgiving table. I wanted to try something different than his usual version with maple syrup and marshmellows on top. I was pleasantly suprised that this dish was my favorite this Thanksgiving (and there was a lot of competition!. All of our guests raved about them - even my 4 year old, who is very picky, loved them! It is just the perfect combination of flavors! Thank you so much for this winner, Tyler!

I have made this for several holiday get togethers and it is always a hit! I get many requests for the recipe. I have made it without the topping for a regular dinner and it still tastes great!

The sweetness of the bannana with the sweet potato added a great contrast to the dish.

I loved it and will use this recipe again. It did take longer to cook the sweet potatoes, but this is a dish you can make ahead and just finish off the next day with the topping if you're using it for a holiday meal. (BTW, I finished my potatoes off in the microwave b/c I was pressed for time.

We used 5 sweet potatoes, 2 bananas (per others, we cut back on the banana's but the topping along with the potato was too sweet for our taste. Next time I think I will skip the honey, and make the topping with melted butter and crushed walnuts, but to each her own!

This dish could be served at Thanksgiving and Christmas
I am going to take the basic recipe and do something very special for a dessert at Christmas. It will make an
extra special layer to a trifle.

I made this for Thanksgiving and omG was it good! Both my daughter and husband, the two sweet potato haters of the family liked the recipe. My mom, the sweet potato expert of the family LOVED the recipe. We each took bites, looked at each other and kept saying "mmmm"!
Thank you Tyler! I cannot say enough about this recipe. I will never make sweet potatoes another way!

I served this dish for Thanksgiving, and everyone really liked it -- some even asked to take some of the leftovers home. Even those not especially fond of sweet potatotes ate some and liked it.
Only 1 thing prevented me from giving this recipe 5 stars: we all thought the sweet potato mixture was a bit too dry (perhaps it's because after reading other reviews that commented on the banana flavor being too strong, I reduced the amount of bananas I added to the sweet potatoes. Next time I may add a bit of cream or 1/2 & 1/2... I added 2 large bananas to the instead of 4 small- to mid-sized bananas.
Everyone commented on how perfect the topping was for the dish, so I wouldn't change anything about that for the future.
I would encourage anyone who's hesitating to give the dish a try.
