I LOVE these browies. However, mine also aren't quite done in the middle and my batter sunk down after I pulled it out of the oven to cool. It also crumbles terribly when I cut it into pieces. However, it tastes Oh So Good!

Having read the reviews I also opted to use a 9 x 13 pan instead of 9 x 9. Think if I had used the 9 x 9 the brownies would have come out too thick. I did not have amaretto to hand but instead used 2 tbls of Kahlua which complimented the chocolate perfectly. The brownies came out rich and chocolatey, very moist and very gooey....yum! Although I had difficulty cutting these neatly, the taste far outweighed the clumsy appearance. This recipe has to be the best brownie recipe I have come across to date!

I just tried Tyler's Brownie recipe on a very stormy, rainy day!
Not wanting to venture outside, I substituted Chambord for the Amaretto I didn't have....YUM!!!
I also added 1 c. semisweet chocolate chips to the mixture. I did add chopped the walnuts as well.
I used a 9x13 pan as I have had bad experiences in the past with trying to bake brownies in a 9x9 pan....bakes way too long and never really gets past gooey. Also, I have 3 sons...so the more I can make the better!
I baked them at 350 for about 38 min. The brownies have a nice crust on top and are pretty thick even though I used a 9x13 pan.
I am definitely going to make this recipe and will add Kahlua, Bailey's, Godiva....possibilities are endless!
    HAPPY BAKING!

I have followed this recipe many times. However, I do use a 9x13 pan; the parchment idea is so convenient for both taking out the brownies as well as clean-up. I use 12 oz of chocolate instead of 8, add a tablespoon of instant coffee, and a teaspoon of vanilla. As others mentioned, the amaretto liqueur is not a prevalent note in the final product, but I think it contributes to a more moist product. Also, I do bake for about 50 min (in addition to using a bigger pan. Overall, I did not find the brownie as overwhelmingly sweet. Everyone who tries them raves that they are amazing! : Will continue using this recipe as a base for brownies.

These were fantastic even though I did not add the amaretto or walnuts. These were the most moist & chocolaty brownies I have ever eaten - people went crazy for them! I was glad I read the reviews as I also cooked them for 60 minutes & put them in a slightly smaller pan (8x8 & thus used a little less batter than the recipe called for.

I've made these brownies several times and have loved them. I substitute kahlua for the amaretto because I love the flavor. I did have problems getting them to cut neatly, but the taste overcame the messiness.

I also had trouble getting these to bake correctly in the 9 x 9 pan - they were finally done after 60 minutes, but were crustier than I had expected. The flavor was GREAT though, so I tried them again in a 9 x 13 pan and they were perfect. I didn't have any amaretto on hand so substituted coffee - the flavor was so delicious I don't imagine I'd worry about using the amaretto in the future.

I made these brownies today and was very disappointed. They were not done after 40 min., so I added an extra 10 minutes, then an additional 5 minutes. They still came out undercooked. I used my convect bake at 350. I'm very unhappy.
I have a wonderful never disappoint recipe that has been in our family for over 50 years which is terrific. I'd be happy to give it to Tyler and he wouldn't be disappointed for sure. When I watched his TV program with the Amaretto Chocolate Brownies with Walnuts recipe, I thought I'd try it for a change. Not worth the change. I'll go back to my never wrong recipe.

This was the first batch of brownies I have ever made and they turned out awesome. Very light and cake like in consistency. I remember my mom making the ready-to-bake-out-of-the-box disasters and fringe at how someone can call those brownies in comparsion to Tyler's ultimate brownies! Cut them into smaller pieces. Will make again and again and again.

I've never made brownies from scratch until now. These were AMAZING!! I took these to a party and everyone LOVED them. They were so moist and thick. I used a 9x13 pan and added a bit more amaretto after reading previous reviews. This is now my go to brownie recipe. Great job Tyler!
