I made this soup for a friend who was not feeling well and she and her little daughter loved it. I used turkey meat instead of chx and chx stock instead of broth (don't really know the diff. and I loved the way it tasted. Love the idea of meatballs and torts. in this soup..... Tyler you're the man!!

I have made this soup numerous times. My family loves it, so much that my son asked for it for his birthday dinner. I have adapted it slightly since I have made it so much. I have been unable to find the apple chicken sausage, so I use turkey Italian sausage for the meatballs.I also add some seasoned bread crumbs. They always turn out delicious. I usually make a double batch and bake them and put them in the freezer for my next pot of soup. I always make the grilled mozzarella and pesto sandwiches to go with it. This is truely my family's favorite meal!!

unlike other reviewers .. i have no problems with the meatballs , just make them a lil bit bigger , that way it won't crumble .
this soup takes time to fix , but it has a great taste , and instead of using cheese tortelini , i used the chicken and prosciutto tortelini .. yummy!!

I made this recipe on a rainy day it was perfect just what i wanted. I liked that it was more interesting than an ordinary chicken noodle soup, I will definately keep making this. As for my meatballs they stayed together just fine, if you are having trouble try adding less of the veggies when u ball them up or making bigger meatballs.

I think Tyler is great. So great that I TiVo him to the point where it makes my boyfriend jealous. And while some find that his fast-paced technique is "frantic and nervous", it actually shows me how experienced well trained he is in a professional atmosphere. I don't find him frantic at all. Tyler, keep it up with the "BOOM", "ba-da-bing", and everything else. I love it.

Ok, I love Tyler...but this was disappointing! The broth was good..but just an ordinary chicken soup broth, nothing special. The meatballs fell apart and were an un-appetizing mess. I am a decent family cook, and can certainly follow a few simple instructions..but the IDEA of this soup is better than the reality. I prefer Rachel Ray's double chicken and dumpling soup. It's made with ground chicken (the meatballs don't fall apart! and gnocchi...and it always turns out great.

I made this and i live in small town so i bought turkey smoked links and added an apple. My meat balls fell apart while cooking so i just drained the fat and put it in the pot. I addeded the frozen pasta and it was good. I was scared the kids would hat it but they went on back for more. I told them this was my own recipe it was GREAT. Will make again my way.

After reading some of the comments I opted to skip the meatballs and add shredded chicken. The soup base great, I really can't say enough good things about it. Love Tyler, his show, recipes and all his mannerisms "BOOM!" included.

So my husband and I tried it. Our only complaint was the meatballs. They didn't seem to stay in a ball shape and sort of went everywhere in our soup. I would highly recommend using this recipe as a new base broth for your regular chicken breast soup. The tortellini was a nice twist and the broth taste AMAZING! Not a big fan of the meatballs.

I also watched the episode, and although it looked delicious I have to say the constant use of "Boom" is incredibly distracting and annoying. Too many filler words. He also nervously moves around the set it almost makes me dizzy watching him. I watch all of his episodes and he is an excellent chef, but he is very hard to watch! Doesn't someone on the set tell him this??
