they sound great - keen to make them but any suggested alternatives for people who don't have crisco products available(eg outside US? what is the generic product for crisco butter shortening? is it something available in general grocery store? and is 'light brown sugar' just regular old brown sugar?

I used bread flour and i smuched my cookie a little before putting them in the oven baked for 8mins they came out great. I think santa will really enjoy these. oh yeah and i used less salt and they are still a little salty so becareful with the salt

These are truly the best cookies ever! Definitely my "go to" chocolate chip cookie. Added the pecans; absolutely fabulous!

I LOVE THIS RECIPE! IVE ALWAYS WANTED A COOKIE A LITTLE CRISPY AROUND THE EDGES AND NOT SO PUFFY. I THINK ITS THE CRISCO!
