Followed the recipe carefully and was very disappointed. Much too dry.

This is a very easy recipe. However, this glaze is a disgusting disaster! This is an already VERY sweet "torte" and adding a glaze with powdered sugar made it even sweeter. I just melted the peanut butter in the microwave and drizzled it over the top with the chocolate chips. It made a very pretty design and wasn't so darn sweet. I also used 1 cup of Reese's peanut butter chips instead of peanut butter cups. This is VERY yummy, especially with a little ice cream! :

This is a very easy dessert, but it looks like you put a lot of effort into it. Great way to show-off your baking skills...especially to your in-laws like I did!

I was hesitant to make this recipe considering the mixed reviews. But I went ahead and made it because the recipe looked good.

I followed the directions for the cake/brownie part and it turned out great. I pulled the cake from the oven when my toothpick came out with moist crumbs on it, as opposed to a dry toothpick emerging from the cake. I set the timer on 15 minutes, and checked it every few minutes after that.

I substituted the peanut butter filling for a peanut butter buttercream frosting for filling, and completely ommited the peanut butter glaze, icing the cake with ganache instead; so I can't comment on those aspects.

I assembled the cakes and iced them with ganache while the cake was still slightly warm, then refrigerated it overnight. Please allow the cake to come back to room temperature before serving. This was sweet, rich, and moist; so serve small pieces...with coffee.

First, for those who are rating it down: You're doing it wrong. The show this was on was a competition judged by very experienced chefs, and they had none of the problems you did.

I've made this recipe several times, and have gotten rave reviews from everyone who's eaten it. I generally substitute out the melted chocolate for a ganache (heat some heavy cream to boiling, then whisk in chocolate chips, but the torte is amazingly rich and heavy, almost like a brownie. And moist too. Don't get me wrong, you'll need that glass of milk, but only because of how decadent and rich this recipe is, when made right.

This recipe is completely awful. I followed the directions to a T and it turned out looking terrible and the taste was forgettable. I'm so bummed because it sounded so good and the recipe looked very simple to make. Pass on this one for sure.
