It seems that the amount of ganache makes way too much. I would only use 1 cup and half it. The frosting is good... but how much powder sugar do you actually use? 4 cups? 5 cups? 1lb? Didn't realize this until I was creating the cake.
I will make again if the people enjoy it... I will definitely make more icing and less ganache.. although I'm going to heat it up and use it as fondue for fruit.

I baked this cake, followed the recipe and ingredients to the letter. I gave it to my daughter as an anniversary dessert and was very disappointed. The texture of the cake was dry. I did not overbake it. It actually reminded me of an old HoHo or Hostess cupcake. Filling and frosting were very good. Is it possible that there is a typo in the amount of an ingredient??

Very good! The buttermilk really gives this cake its flavor. Easy and well worth the time!
