We love these! I made these for a large family dinner and they were the hit of the dinner! People are still commenting on them.

Delicious! I've made this recipe both on the grill and in the oven and either way it is great. I added a small amount of chopped bacon bits - can't have too much bacon : - into the center of the onion with the butter. Yummy.
Does Uncle Wilson have any other recipes to share?

I am going to try the bacon next time. I prepare my onion the same way (scoop out some of center & add butter. Instead of wrapping the bacon, I add two or three "shakes" of worchestire sauce, a little salt & pepper then wrap tightly in heavy foil. Bake at 350 about an hour (depending on size of onion. Its pretty good!!

Delicious! I make mine the same way except that I core more out of the onion and and a little beef base, a clove of garlic and a pat of butter. It's like french onion soup with bacon!

DELISH!!!!! My Momma has always grilled onions. I hate to say it, but I like these even better. It was the bacon. I will be making these again and again. Thanks for the recipe. Love your new show. Love You (& Garth too!!! Have ALWAYS been BIG fans of yours.

Wonderful side dish! Oh my goodness, this was so good! (word of caution when wrapping up foil, a toothpick sticking pretty far out will puncture a hole in the foil! We plan on making this on a regular basis. Thanks Uncle Wilson & Trisha, for sharing!
