Tasty, easy to make, nice rich moist texture, but remember to generously butter and FLOUR your pan, otherwise, it will stick. I used spray Pam with flour.....my cake wouldn't budge! I would cut back on the sugar by 3/4 of a cup. It doesn't require any additional topping since it's so rich.

This cake was moist and delicious and very easy to make. I didn't think it was too wet. I will definitely be making this again!

I made this cake and thought it was easy, cooked to a nice texture and wonderful eating just as is. I might add chocolate or toffee chips next time and reduce amount of coconut in half to give it a chocolaty flavor as well. But really thought it was a perfect, no muss cake, especially easy mixing by hand.

It was ok. Yet, there is another version of the Vanilla Waffer cake that has 2 sticks of margarine or butter added to the ingredients. This was a little tastier. This was also an old receipe....1960's...1970's.

Great flavor but a little too sweet for my taste. I think I would substitute one cup of brown sugar for the two cups of white sugar and maybe add a cup of self rising flour to it. Its also a very moist cake, a little on the mushy side.

Wow... this cake is awesome. I thought it would be too sweet with 2 cups of sugar AND the vanilla wafers, but it isn't! The only thing I personally would change is the texture that the coconut brings to the cake. Maybe chop the coconut up or put it in a food processor? But that's my personal taste. The cake otherwise is dense and flavorful and it was perfectly done at 55 minutes. I thought about putting in some cinnamon and/or nutmeg, but I'm glad I didn't. Great recipe!!!
