NUTRITION INFO
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup heavy mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup sugar substitute (recommended: Splenda)
  • 1/2 cup shelled walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 12 ounces white cabbage, shredded
  • 4 ounces red cabbage, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Directions

In a large bowl, mix all ingredients, tossing to combine. Chill for 2 hours before serving.

Cook's Note: Serve with sugar-free gelatin for a great dessert.

    So easy & tasty! A keeper!!
    Tried this last night along with the Low Carb Key West Crab Cakes. Both recipes were delish! I wouldn't change a thing about this slaw - and it went great with a seafood dinner.
    I have been burned by a lot of bad recipes, so I went into this with low expectations. Boy was I wrong this was delightfully easy and tasty. My only complaint... Why didn't I bring more for lunch today!!!
    This was an excellent cole slaw even if you are not on a low carb diet. We love to experiment with different slaw recipes and this one is easy to make and tastes great.
    I only wish "low carb & lovin it" was still on your network. This salad is great anytime of the year. Its refreshing and my family loves it. All of the recipes I have pulled off "low carb" have been great. Thank you George!!!

    My company this weekend couldn't stop raving about it! Terrific flavor and full of cruch.
    This was a great recipe as is. I, of course, love to tweek recipies so I added 1 stalk of thin sliced celery and it gave it just a little more crunch with out adding carbs. It was very good.
    Easy and delicious
    The flavor of this cole slaw is wonderful. I used the packaged angel hair slaw which is sliced a little thinner than the regular slaw.
    Very tasty - a big hit with the family. I reduced the sweetener to 1/4 cup and it was still a bit sweet.
    This dish is so good. The taste is so unique. My friends are gonna love it. We exchange recipes online all the time and this is something that takes just a few minutes to make and is such a delight. I'm diabetic and am trying so hard to watch carbs. Well this is one that is very low carb and is for me. I work fri. sat and sun's, 6pm-6am. When residnets at the nursing home I work at can't sleep, I usually make them something to eat. I'll have to make this one and take it in.

    I loved the touch of nutmeg. This one's a keeper. However, like many others stated, I will cut back on the sweetner the next go round.
    I made this for thanksgiving and everyone loved it. There was a lot of salad so I was able to save some for myself too. I used a little less splenda.
    This cole slaw is awesome!! I make it just about every week. Absolutely delicious. I can't see myself making any other kind. Try it-you'll love it.

    This is slighyly different because of the nuts, but it has a marvelous flavor. It is moist and flavorful and goes well with pork.
    This recipe is da BOMB!!! How in the world you could get such rich apple flavor with the ingredients listed is beyond me. I can't eat apples, and this recipe is a perfect substitution. Frankly, I have never been crazy about "regular" waldorf salad, and I absolutely am CRAZY about this one!

    This is a wonderful recipe and exactly what a low carb dieter needs to add variety to our menu. I get bored with basic salads but this slaw really livens things up! Sweet and crunchy but with a new twist of the walnuts and nutmeg. George Stella gives us the best low carb recipes!
    I made the Waldorf Cole Slaw as directed and it was the hit of dinner. I was asked for the recipe and gave it out telling them where to find other great recipes.
    made this recipe just as you said.tried it just after i made it.it was delicious.then refigerated it for supper.it came out a little soggy.but it was good any way.good any way.my husband liked it.going to make it again tonight.using less of the dressing.
    This salad was different. A great substitute for regular cole slaw.
