These cookies are delicious!!! The vanilla cream filling is so yummy!! I like the simple ingredients and how easy they are to make. My cookies were just a little larger so I didn't get the amount of servings stated on the recipe.
I don't use shortening very often, however, when I crave a decadent treat this is a worthy splurge!

I must have done something wrong because I do not care for this cookie. I find it tough for a cookie. Would try it again just to see if I did something wrong. I also found these very greasy.

OMG! These are absolutely TO DIE FOR, and so easy! The cookies are delicious "as is," without any filling. A great chocolate cookie all by itself. I did find that the recipe only made half the amount of cookies stated. Perhaps mine were extra large? I will definitely be making these again. My kids went crazy over them.

These cookies are fantastic! Rich and delicious - lots of chocolate flavor! They are a little sweet, but that only occurred to me after my fourth or fifth cookie. I didn't use the filling, so I can't comment on that part of the recipe. I'd rather find a filling without shortening, though.

Cookies were great. However, I couldn't help but taste the shortening in the filling. Maybe it was some error of my own, but I followed the recipe...

Cookies were right on, but the filling was kind of sweet. Next time I think I'll try adding some cream cheese like someone else suggested.

I added some softened cream cheese to the butter and shortening in the filling. It cut down on the sweetness and gave the cookies a little more adult appeal. I served them straight from the fridge. This helped the filling from leaking out. Overall, easy and delish.

These cookies are a lot of fun to make and the cookie part is easy and the recipe is spot-on. The filling, however, is not as tasty as it could be. Too sweet. The kids were turned off by the intense sugary-ness even tho they have big sweet tooths!
I'm going to try to make up my own filling, maybe with peanut butter, so we can enjoy the chocolate cookies with better centers.
