    Very tasty meatless side dish, since I don't always add bacon to beans trying to keep the fat calories down. I halved the recipe for just the two of us, thickened up nicely.

    Okay, so I used canned pork and beans and threw in a little bacon; so I did not follow the recipe per se. However, this did not come out to the baked bean thickness that I was hoping for. The molasses did the trick and after throwing them in a casserole dish and BAKING them in a 425 degree oven for about 30 min - Now, those were some baked beans. Good starter for the real deal.
