I'm sure it would have been good, but nowhere does it say when to put in the flour. Unfortunately, I didn't catch that until it was too late and I had wasted over a dozen eggs and a pound of butter. By that time, I was out of time and too annoyed to begin again.

Cake had wonderful flavor, but not too sweet. Made this for company, and everyone loved it. A bit of work in preparation, but well worth it.

My mother is from Austria, so I thought it would be the perfect cake to make her. It was. She loved it and so does everyone else that I have made it for. It looks daunting but well worth the time and effort.

The recipe for the buttercream icing is perfect. It was so easy. I have never made any icing before and this turned out excellent the first try. Not too chocolatey... just enough. Love it!
