The best shortcake ever!!! The shortcake melts in your mouth and you can't eat just one. This is a keeper and one that I will make often.

This recipe is easy to follow and no need to readjust it. I usually have to lower the amount of butter and sugar used, but this recipe calls for no such thing. Recommend it to all amateur bakers =]

I do this recipe everytime I want a homemade shortcake for my strawberries. I have substituted AP flour and it is still really awesome. You can also substitute some yogurt, or sour cream that has been thinned with milk for the heavy cream. That has worked great for those times if I don't feel like going out special for heavy cream. Whatever the fruit may be, or even if you'd like something akin to a scone with some honey or jam on it this recipe is worth it! Just keep the extra cakes in a zippy bag.

This recipe was good, but if you're looking for the traditional "cake" that's spongey and soft, then don't use this recipe. It's hard and flakey (but with a good flavor. Ice cream was great, but make sure you cool down COMPLETELY the strawberry compotete before you use it. Mine was just semi-cooled and made soup out of my ice cream.

I only used the recipe for the shortcake, and it was gone in one night! My hubby, a chef who actually knows Wolfgang, thought there was a bit much cream & butter when I read it to him. He shut up and stuffed his mouth after I made it as written.
