The fish was good, it just wasn't anything special. The only thing I did differently was I used a frying pan instead of the grill.. I'd recommend you try it, but maybe marinate it for an extra hour or so. The rice was horrible! I cooked it just how the recipe said, but I think it was the coconut milk that made it taste so bad. It actually made me feel sick to my stomach. If I ever cook the fish again, I'll pair it with some wild rice or something.

The flavors were so fresh and delicious with the tilapia. I have made this recipe several times and will make it again. Its so easy!

(That said, the rice was really boring...

The fish was excellent. I added a bit more ginger and hot sauce as we enjoy spicy food. But the rice was horrid. I cook rice quite often and this rice was terribly undercooked and gummy. Will not be making it again.

i may have added a bit more orange zest than the recipe calls for but it turned out great. my only mistake was using a Le Crueset grill (you know, the ones with the ridges Well, that prevented the fish from forming a nice caramelized crust. plus, it kinda fell apart on the grill. the little bits that fell between the grill grooves were nice and caramelized and my husband scooped out every last piece :D
next time, it's going in the regular ole iron skillet so i can get a nice caramelized fish. the flavor was good. for those commenting on the lack of heat, the recipe says "hot sauce to taste"... hello

MARINATED THE FISH FOR 1 1/2 HRS AND COULD BARELY TASTE THE FRUIT AND HEAT. IF YOU WANT A GREAT TILAPIA RECIPE TRY RACHAEL'S TILAPIA WITH TOMATILLAS. GOOGLE IT. IT'S TOO HARD TO FIND ON THE SITE.

This recipe is amazing!!! My husband travels alot and eats in some very upscale restaurants. He claimed my Tilapia dinner had them all beat!! I read the reviews went easy on the salt I also used dried mangos in the rice. It was creamy and fabulous a perfect compliment to the fish! The tilapia I sauted in a pan and wasn't shy with the hot sauce! Fantastic Flavor, texture and spice! This is a winner for my family!

The tilapia and mango coconut rice was such a great combo! I didnt add nearly as much salt, just a pinch for both - but gosh was this great!

The fish was great, but the rice was terrible. Should have used maybe a quarter of the coconut milk recommended. Way too creamy. Also, the rice was a little undercooked. Maybe soaking the rice in water for 20 or so minutes before doing anything else with it would help.

I loved the flavor the marinade gave the fish. My 4 yr old ate it up. Instead of juice from the orange I used OJ with mango juice and let it hang out for a little over an hour and then baked it. Don't be scared of the hot sauce, it wasn't hot at all. Definitely going to use this marinade again. As for the rice...not so much.

My family all enjoyed this dish. The fish was very tasty and perfectly seasoned, although I admit I didn't use as much hot sauce as indicated as we are not really big on spicy. The rice was also good and the mango and coconut gave it a fresh taste.
