Open from May through September, The McCarthy Lodge & Ma Johnson’s Historic Hotel is the only Michelin-recommended accommodation around the massive 13.2-million-acre Wrangell–St. Elias National Park. It offers two impressive dining options. The McCarthy Lodge Bistro is the more adventurous of the two, with an extensive wine list and interesting takes on wild-caught Copper River red salmon and locally raised pigs. The other, the Golden Saloon, pairs casual fare with solid wine choices and Alaskan craft brews on tap.
