Operated by Ortega National Parks, the Painted Desert Diner is the only restaurant within the confines of Arizona’s Petrified Forest. The short menu tends toward healthy fare, and it includes breakfast and lunch sandwiches and burgers with Southwest and Native American influences. Lamb stew and cornbread are particularly appealing after a day of wandering the park.
