The saying goes that if Colonel Sanders had Uncle Lou's fried chicken recipe, he'd be a general. On The Best Thing I Ever Ate, Guy loved Lou's "crazy" fried chicken that's dipped into a sauce once called "Corruption." Now, thanks to Guy, it has been rechristened Sweet Spicy Love.

Uncle Lou's chicken was so good I drove from Fort Smith, Arkansas just to pick some up!!! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Well we ate at Uncle Lou's today, after seeing the show a little while back. Guy, I feel you owe me a dinner. This had to be the worse place Ive had the misfortune to eat at in Memphis. With your picture plastered all over the place we thought we would have a good meal. Guess watching the show should be all we do not take advice of dinning out. Do yourself a favor dont waste your time and money eating at Uncle Lou's head on down to KFC at least you know what your going to get. Guy, you seriously owe me dinner. There was so much wrong with the meal not sure what to say. JUST DONT GO!
item not reviewed by moderator and published
Best fried chicken, EVER. Biscuits were delicious too. Next lay-over in Memphis, I'm renting a car and getting my chicken. It's that good. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Best Fried Chicken I have had, bar none. We had this catered in at work, so I wanted to share the experience with the family. I called ahead and my order was coming up as I arrived and was paying for the order. Waited on by Uncle Lou himself. Remember to order double what you think you want, because I am staring at the fridge where a couple extra pieces are calling my name a few hours later. Got a mix of homestyle, mild and hot SSL. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Best fried chicken ever! We tried the mild and the sweet spicy love. They were both delicious. The sweet spicy love had a kick but it wasn't too hot. I can't handle spicy foods but the sweet in it mellowed out the spicy. If you are ever in Memphis you have to try it. You won't regret it. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Uncle Lou's...WOW! The best fried chicken I have EVER eaten! Uncle Lou is friendly and this "dive" rocks. Peace item not reviewed by moderator and published
Outstanding! There is a long wait, as the food is cooked to order. Call ahead if you are in a rush. But I have to tell you, it is worth the wait! item not reviewed by moderator and published
This place is, most definitely, a dive. A dive with the best chicken, ever! The sweet, spicy love was awesome and the honey butter biscuits were ridiculous. Highly recommended. item not reviewed by moderator and published

we should have looked up the reviews instead of going with the advertisement of Guy being there.....

we usually try to visit Food Network suggestions if we are in the area of places they have been and have never been disappointed.....well now we can add one to the dislike column..... although the actual chicken was ok (if you are into sweet chicken) the rest of the meal was WAY sweet--- sweet chicken, potato salad that was very sweet, thick sweet tea and sweet buttered bisquits...... this is a diabetic coma in the making kinda place.
item not reviewed by moderator and published
