Specialty Dishes: Tacos

If you visit El Paso, you'll quickly learn that Chico's Tacos is an El Paso tradition (and has been for decades). On The Best Thing I Ever Ate, Aaron Sanchez claims the tacos—which are rolled and fried and drenched in cheese and tomato chili sauce—are how tacos should taste.

Born and raised in El Paso, and Chico's Tacos is a tradition after high school sports events and every other celebation of any kind. It has to be experienced to be believed! LOVE IT! item not reviewed by moderator and published
By far, the worst place to eat in El Paso. The reason why it doesn't exist anywhere else is because El Paso is the only place that will perpetuate it's existence. Just because a lot of people like the same bad food doesn't make it a gem. It started as the late night, nothing else is open, and we are hungry drunk type of food. There are now options. Taco Cabana is score better and is actually edible. Chico's...barely. The worst imitation cheese, a sauce that has no flavor or character. God knows what is in the taco meat! If I could give Negative stars, I would. item not reviewed by moderator and published
An El Paso tradition! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Some of the worst Mexican food I've ever had? The lack of meat in the taco and the cold tomato chili sauce did not do any justice for this place I give Taco Bell a 10 compared to this in all around Mexican cuisine item not reviewed by moderator and published

No where else do you have Chicos tacos and if your native you always crave them if you move away and you try to recreate but there are no substitutes!!! item not reviewed by moderator and published
The signature rolled tacos are truly unique but the Chico's Sauce that they swim in will surprise and amaze your taste buds. For half a century, patrons have loved this place with a fervor that would make a Trekker jealous. The real secret...if you can get past the tacos, you will find that Chico's has one of the best cheeseburgers you will ever eat. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Just because a lot of people don't like a particular type of food doesn't mean it is bad. I personally, have never eaten the tacos drunk and think they are great. The reason it is only in El Paso is not because "El Paso is the only place that will perpetuate it's existence". Surrounding cities have wanted the "perpetuate it's existence", but the family that owns it do not want to venture outside of EP. Give your opinion without making stuff up and offending people with a different one. item not reviewed by moderator and published
