Barefoot in Washington

Ina Garten heads to where her career began, Washington, D.C., for an unforgettable trip that culminates in a visit with First Lady Michelle Obama. While in D.C., Ina stops by to see Bettina Stern, a former Barefoot Contessa staffer at her restaurant Chaia to make Homemade Tacos with Roasted Cauliflower. She drops in to judge the New York Times' Washington Bureau monthly Food Club cook-off as well as co-hosts a birthday lunch with writer Elsa Walsh and her husband Bob Woodward with her delicious Maple Roasted Carrot Salad on the menu. Ina takes in the city's burgeoning food and drink scene, meeting up with her friend from the Washington Post for more local flavor and fun including science-meets-drama mixology in the form of the Highlander Cocktail. Ina then attends a very special event celebrating the White House Kitchen Garden and First Lady's Let's Move! initiative including a visit with the First Lady's Deputy Chief of Staff, Melissa Winter. She cooks up tea time treats with Executive Chef Cristeta Comerford in the White House Kitchen including Vegetable Tarts and Salad Wraps with Greek Yogurt Feta Cheese Dip before an extraordinary finish in which she joins First Lady Michelle Obama for tea!
