Welcome to the Kitchen

Though this massive arena is likely larger than most of the kid finalists' home kitchens, it's indeed equipped with everything they'll need to prepare Star-worthy meals for the mentors. Take a peek inside to see what's available to the competitors.

At the Ready

At any given time during competition, multiple cameras are set up around the kitchen, each set and focused to capture the kids' action during the challenges. The jib pictured here is responsible for many of the overhead shots.

Condiments Galore

Hot sauces, vinegars, oils, beans, mustards and more — there's no shortage of ways to add flavor and texture thanks to this all-star lineup of ingredients in the pantry.

Sweet Bites

There's more than just savory goods lined up on the shelves in the pantry. The rows of chocolate hold the promise of decadence in finished dishes.

Take Your Pick

With so many finalists competing in the kitchen at once, the culinary crew stocks multiple pieces of the same tool, such as strainers, cheese graters and mixing bowls, to make sure there's always enough.

Take Your Pick

From small stainless steel frying pans and deep pots to nonstick and cast-iron skillets, there's indeed a cooking vessel to get every job done.

Mission: Baking

Hand mixers, stand mixers, muffin tins and tart shells also line the shelves of the pantry, and surely there are multiple pieces of each available.

Chilly Environment

Multiple cheeses, fresh juice, several varieties of milk and stacks of eggs are up for grabs in this well-stocked refrigerator.

Demo Does It

Not only is there a row of stoves and a wall of ovens in the rear of the kitchen, but there's also a miniature demo kitchen to the side within the larger space.

Additional Equipment

In the demo kitchen, there are two more ovens, a five-burner stove and a refrigerator.

Just Like Home

To add to the comfortable atmosphere in the kitchen, the stage is dressed with colorful kitchen gadgets and tools, and there's even a light-up "eat" sign.

At the Ready

Each finalist's workstation is outfitted with basic ingredients and seasonings, such as oils, salt and pepper, plus common tools, including kitchen tongs, a whisk and a ladle, so the competitors don't have to waste time searching for these everyday items.

Plates Aplenty

Pureed soups, composed salads, hearty meats, fresh pastas — no matter what items the finalists want to dish up, there's a plate, bowl, cup or platter within reach.

Spotlight On: The Food

Believe it or not, it takes all of these cameras to capture a shining shot of the finalists' finished dishes.

Waiting for an Answer

This is the stew room, where the finalists congregate while the mentors are in the kitchen deciding who among the competitors will be spared from elimination and who will ultimately go home.
