Where to Find the Best Ginormous Food in Nashville
Josh Denny visited local hot spots across Nashville to experience some of the city's most-massive eats. Find out which restaurants he went to and what he tasted.
Built with plenty of gooey provolone cheese and a bright coleslaw, the Titan Cheesesteak from Piranha's is a full 12 inches tall, thanks in part to the six-pound mound of beef on the bottom of the sandwich and a blanket of crispy fries right on top. "The steak is so tender and delicious," according to Josh.
Pepperfire Hot Chicken
"The apple is really unique, and it really sets it off well," Josh explains of the fruit atop the Battle Royale. Nashville is famous for its hot chicken, and this dish from Pepperfire Hot Chicken surely delivers on heat — plus a bit of sweet. This monstrous meal combines spice-bathed fried chicken, battered, fried pepperjack cheese sandwiches and tender, syrupy apples to create a memorable mash-up.
Offering up to 10 servings, the 17-pound Greek Feast from Bellevue Diner is just that: the ultimate in Mediterranean masterpieces. Here layers of chicken, fresh vegetables and, of course, a generous dollop of a yogurt-based tzatziki sauce come together on a golden pita to create with Josh deems simply "massive." As for the flavor, he notes, "The chicken is really savory. It pops through the tzatziki sauce really nice."
