Where to Find the Best Ginormous Food in Pittsburgh

Josh Denny visited local hot spots across Pittsburgh, to experience some of the city's most-massive eats. Find out which restaurants he went to and what he tasted.

Bakn

Think beyond the usual maple syrup, because pancakes can be savory too. Meet The Bakn Quake. Stretching a whopping 18 inches in diameter, this beauty gets topped with a full pound of crumbled bacon, plus two additional pounds of bacon strips. There's also a dozen fried eggs and a pound of cheese piled atop the pancake, which gets flipped to create a half-moon shape.

Primanti Bros.

French fries are a signature item on every sandwich served at Primanti Bros., including The Triple Pitts-Burger. This 3-pound burger creation comes with three cheese-topped burger patties, three fried eggs and plenty of capicola — plus the all-important mountain of fries, of course.

Emporio

Emporio is all about meatballs, and this panini, called The Six Pack, brings together six jumbo-size beef meatballs to create a hefty showstopper. Any good meatball sandwich needs sauce and cheese, and there's plenty of both here — the cheese trio features layers of provolone, gouda and American. When you come to Emporio for The Six Pack, be sure to bring your pals, because this pressed panini feeds at least a dozen people.
