The Impulse Buyer/Lover of Bagging — Brian Malarkey

"I overpurchase. I am the guy all those 'product placement studies' have been made for. I just keep on grabbing — impulse purchaser I am — but I am an incredible bagger!"

The Aisle Snacker — Elizabeth Falkner

If I'm shopping [while I'm] hungry, I buy too many crackers and chips.

The Mayor of the Market — Beau MacMillan

"I don’t really have any bad habits when it comes to grocery shopping, but my wife loves to remind me that I’m not the mayor, because I smile at everyone and usually say hello to everybody there."

The Express Lane Hog/The Nibbler — Jet Tila

"I might have in my day had a bad habit of taking way more than 10 items to the 10 items or less line to speed my way through. And I might or might not have the habit of helping myself to loose fruit while shopping."

The Sweet Tooth Shopper — Justin Warner

"I always impulse buy gummy candy."

The Thoughtful Shopper — Anne Burrell

"I have to say I think I have very good grocery store etiquette. ... If I see someone behind me with one item and I have a lot of items, I let them go ahead of me. One time I had a large cart full of grocery items and I let one person go ahead of me who had one item, and one more person with one item, and four or five more people came along with one thing and I wondered, 'Am I going to get out of here today?'"

Shopping Without a Plan/Shopping While Hungry — Marc Murphy

"I have two, really: not making a list before I go so I end up with a dozen jars of Dijon mustard in the pantry, and, the worst offense, going grocery shopping when I’m hungry. It wreaks havoc on my shopping plan and I come home with all kinds of food we really don't need."

The Impatient Shopper/The Grazer — Penny Davidi

"I am definitely the shopper yelling at the manager to open up another cashier because I hate to wait, and I will almost always down a box of sushi while shopping — yes, of course, I pay for it!"

The Aisle Drifter — Melissa d'Arabian

"I love the grocery store, so I easily get sucked into spending too much time there. If we ever need someone to do a quick grocery store run, we always send my husband. He is there and back in a flash. I get stuck there for a half-hour just browsing the aisles and noticing how the merchandise is laid out, or evaluating pricing strategies."
