Stuffed Cupcakes

You've seen how to take your cupcakes up a notch by decorating them, but have you thought about taking the insides to the next level? Try out these stuffing ideas to enjoy cupcakes that are delicious from the inside out.

Stuff Cupcakes with Cookies

Place a round cookie in the bottom of each cupcake liner, then pour your cupcake batter on top. Bake per recipe directions. Once baked and cooled, frost the cupcakes and garnish with crushed cookies.* On the show, we used vanilla cupcakes and hazelnut-spread cookies, but feel free to get creative with your combinations.

* You can also mix crushed cookies into the batter for a more spread out crunch.

Stuff Cupcakes with Cherries

Fill cupcake liners halfway with batter, top with a de-stemmed maraschino cherry, and then add enough batter to fill by three-quarters. Bake per recipe directions. Once baked and cooled, frost the cupcakes and garnish a cherry. We featured chocolate cupcakes on the show, but you can use any cake flavor that will complement the cherries.

Stuff Cupcakes with Marshmallow Filling

Once your cupcakes are baked and cooled, core the centers with a melon baller. Slice the cores in half and set aside. Pipe marshmallow filling into the cupcakes and then top with one of the halved cores. Frost the cupcakes and garnish with a mini marshmallow. We used chocolate cupcakes for a s'mores taste!

Stuff Cupcakes with Strawberry

For this hack, we used jumbo cupcakes so we could fit a whole strawberry inside. Start by coring your cupcake with a paring knife. Slice the core in half and reserve. Insert a whole strawberry into the cupcake and top with one of the core halves. Finish with frosting, and garnish with fresh mint or a slice of strawberry. We made these with vanilla cupcakes, but any cake flavor that complements strawberries will work.
