Go bananas with this colossally decadent chocolate layer cake from Chicago's Gibsons Bar and Steakhouse. Each six-pound cake slice is made up of five luscious layers of creme de cocoa-infused chocolate mousse, sliced ripe bananas and raspberry preserves. The cake also contains secret hints of citrus, which it gets from a fruity simple syrup that gets brushed into each of its repeating layers.

#4: Bananas Foster Snowball — Hansen's Sno-Bliz
These one-of-a-kind creations from Hansen's Sno-Bliz in New Orleans are made by adding ice into a machine created by the shop's original owner in 1939, which transforms it into a creamy snow. A made-from-scratch vanilla custard syrup and caramelized bananas get added on top, giving each snowball a gooey texture almost identical to that of ice cream.

The pie's hearty texture comes from the Pink Lady and Granny Smith apples found in its center, which are striped so that they bake with half of their skins intact.
