Food Network on Amazon Echo

Alexa's learned something new: Food Network is now on Amazon Echo! Get recipes from your favorite Food Network shows and chefs, and find out when the shows you love are on.

How does it work?

Alexa is now your ultimate Food Network companion.! If you've ever watched Food Network and found yourself thinking, "I'd love to make that," it'll be a snap — just ask your Amazon Echo for the recipe.

Just search the skills section of your Alexa app for “Food Network”, or say, “Alexa, enable Food Network skill” to get started.

With the new Food Network skill, it's quick and easy to get the recipes you've seen on TV. Ask for recent or popular recipes from your favorite shows or chefs, and you'll receive them in your inbox to open at your convenience. You can also search our TV schedule by show name, chef name and time/date to find showtimes and episode details.

Here are some things you could ask Alexa for:

  • What's on Food Network now?
  • What show is on next?
  • What will be on tomorrow night?
  • When will Giada be on next?
  • When will Barefoot Contessa be on?
  • Give me the recipes on TV right now.
  • Give me recipes from The Pioneer Woman.
  • Give me popular recipes from Alton Brown.
  • You can change the time zone by saying "time zone".

An e-mail address is required during installation to get recipe details and links sent to you, and is NOT used for any other purpose.

if you have comments, questions or suggestions for the skill, reach out to us at our customer service form. We'd love to hear from you.

Happy cooking!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why do I have to give you my e-mail address?

A: You only need to give us your e-mail if you'd like to get recipe photos and links e-mailed to you. We promise we won't use it for anything other than sending you recipes you've asked for or infrequent notifications about changes to the Food Network skill.

Q: Can Alexa read the recipe to me?

A: No. Our recipes are currently formatted for email, not for speaking. We'll be trying some new things out with our recipes in the near future, so stay tuned or reach out to us if you'd like to help test it.

Q: Can I search for recipes through Alexa?

A: This feature is coming! We're working on ways to be smarter about getting you to the recipes you want. But for now, we're using the connection to your shows, chefs and what's on TV to find relevant recipes. Again, if you'd like to help us test this further, let us know.

Q: Can I set timers, remind myself when a show will be on, or save recipes to my Food Network Recipe Box?

A: Not right now. We are always working on making improvements to the skill and will let you know when the features are available.

Q: Why do I have to give you my time zone?

A: For us to provide you with the most accurate schedule information, we need to know what time zone you're in.

Q: What do I do if my TV listings do not match my time zone?

A: Food Network has two schedules in the United States: an East Coast schedule (Eastern time zone) and a West Coast schedule (Pacific time zone). Setting the time zone with the Food Network skill should give you the right schedule, but your cable or satellite provider might be using a different schedule; if you’re having trouble, try setting your time zone to Eastern or Pacific to check both.

Q: Alexa says she's sending recipes to my e-mail, but I'm not getting them. Help!

A: Did you check your spam filter? You might need to add alexa-recipes@foodnetwork.com to your "Safe Senders List". If you're still not getting the e-mails, let us know.
