How to build it better! – Subway®
Rule of Thumb: Only use bread that is delicious in its own right. It really doesn’t matter what you put on it – if the bread is not delightfully tasty, it will only bring down your sandwich’s awesomeness.
The Main Event
Protein is the perfect opportunity to add distinct flavor to your sandwich. Either select meats that have built-in flavor, like cured meats or sausages, or add spices to more neutral proteins like eggs or tofu.
The fresher the better, of course, but you can also bring out the natural flavor and juices from your veggies with a dusting of salt and pepper while building your sandwich masterpiece.
When selecting a cheese, consider the sandwich’s other flavors. A mild cheese may get lost with a bold spread or salty meats while a strong cheese could easily overpower more subdued ingredients.
What’s better than cheese on a sandwich? Melted cheese on a sandwich. Toasting the sandwich post-cheese application adds creamy and crunchy textures and elevates the flavors of the sandwich.
Bring something extra to the flavor party that puts your sandwich over the top. It could be a particular herb or spice blend, a vinaigrette or dressing or a crispy, fried element.
