Pronunciation: [EYE-vahr]

A popular cooked relish in Yugoslavia and Greece made from roasted sweet red peppers, eggplant, garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper and, sometimes, paprika. Ajvar can be served as an appetizer or side dish.
