moo goo gai pan
Pronunciation: [moo goo gi-PAN]
Chinese-American stir-fried dish of sliced or cubed chicken with ingredients such as mushrooms, bamboo shoots, chinese cabbage, snow peas and water chestnuts. It's typically seasoned with garlic, ginger, soy sauce, rice wine and sesame oil. Moo goo gai pan is served in a light sauce of chicken broth, oyster sauce, sugar and cornstarch. Also called mah gu gai pin.
