These 'Bacon & Eggs' Kicks Are Like Breakfast for Your Feet
Putting your feet into a couple of fried eggs with a side of crispy bacon in the morning doesn’t sound as good as eating those things — at least at first. But a new pair of breakfast-inspired sneakers may just change our minds about that.
Riding the foodie-athletic-shoe trend — 2016 has already brought us Nike’s Chicken and Waffle Sneakers and Saucony’s own PSL-inspired kicks — Saucony has now teamed up with the Las Vegas sneaker boutique Feature to bring the world “Bacon & Eggs” Courageous sneakers, the first offering in what is to be an ongoing line of Breakfast-themed running shoes.
The classic sneaker features satin and washed suede uppers, nubuck panels, and layered soles, in egg-and-beacony hues of brown, rust, beige, pink, white, off white and yellow. The three yolky yellow dots in the Saucony logo on the side are especially evocative of an egg.
The sizzlin’ limited-edition sneakers, which were released with a line of companion, similar-color T shirts and hoodies, went on sale for $120 earlier this month on the Feature website and in the store, and — it won’t surprise breakfast fans to hear — quickly sold out. But if you’re hungry to own a pair, you can find them in a variety of sizes on eBay. Current asking prices range from $190 to $259.99, which will buy a lot of bacon and eggs.
