Chocolate Peanut Butter Twinkies Are Here to Rock Your Snack Break
Hold onto your snack-packs! Hostess is expanding its product line with Chocolate Peanut Butter Twinkies.

Everything old is new again — especially when the old thing is actually trying something new and different.
The Hostess Twinkie is a classic, around since 1930 — not counting that bankruptcy blip that saw the snack cakes disappear from store shelves in 2012, only to be reintroduced the following year – and instantly recognizable for its gold-hued sponge-cake exterior and white “creamy filling.”
Now, Hostess is riffing on its recipe and expanding its Twinkies product line with (hold onto your snack-packs!) … Chocolate Peanut Butter Twinkies.
Eat your hearts out, Reese’s fans.
The “New!” cakes — chocolate cake on the outside, “creamy” peanut butter filling on the inside — come 10 in a box and boast that they are “made with real peanut butter.” So don’t try to eat them at the nut-free table, kids.
Burke Raine, Hostess Brands senior vice president and chief marketing officer, told the press the new cakes reflect a marriage of “America’s favorite flavor combination with America’s most beloved snack cake” and, taken together with the recently introduced Hostess Chocolate Cake Twinkies, signal the company’s “efforts to embrace consumer flavor trends.”
That sounds as if Twinkies may be following in the flavor-diverse footsteps of other iconic brands, Oreos perhaps most prominent among them.
One can only speculate on what Twinkies flavors Hostess is planning for a follow-up. The new cakes are on store shelves now and getting a good reception on social media.
“Got a box last night and they are yummy!” said a vintage-snack-loving Instagrammer who goes by the handle @poptartsbox.
If you can’t find them in your local store, Hostess recommends “checking with your local grocery store managers for availability and order status.”
