Baby Born in Chick-fil-A Gets Chicken for Life
And a job, once she turns 14, if she wants one.

Right now, a chicken sandwich is probably not at the top of Gracelyn Griffin’s fave-food list. At just over a week old, she presumably has a taste for only one --mom-provided -- form of nourishment. In time, however, that may change, and when and if it does, Chick-fil-A has her covered with free chicken sandwiches (and other menu items) for life. Plus a job anytime after she turns 14.
A generous offer, but – not to sound cynical -- it’s perhaps the least the chicken chain could do, considering the free publicity Gracelyn’s parents brought its way by giving birth to Gracelyn in a Chick-fil-A restroom.
Here’s the story, according to San Antonio, Texas, ABC affiliate KSAT: Gracelyn’s parents, Robert and Falon Griffin, were on their way to the hospital last week after Falon’s contractions ramped up and swung by the parking lot of their local Chick-fil-A to meet up with the friend who would take care of their two older daughters while they had the baby.
Suddenly Falon decided she needed to use the bathroom, and though the franchise was closed, persuaded the staff to let her in. (The Griffin family were frequent customers and had even planned ahead by buying a pink “Little Nugget” onesie for the baby a few months back.)
Falon fully expected to make it to the hospital, but Gracelyn apparently had other ideas. She was determined to make her debut right there in the Chick-fil-A bathroom.
Robert, though he had no training, helped to deliver the baby, freeing her from the umbilical cord he noticed was wrapped twice around her neck so that, by the time the EMT crew arrived, both mother and baby were safe.
Recovering in the hospital afterward, Falon shared her thoughts about it all with KSAT. "Oh my gosh we just had a baby in Chick-fil-A. I was like, 'This really happened. How is this my life right now?'" she said.
At the moment, Falon’s probably just trying to get through those early days of parenting, but when Gracelyn turns 1, Chick-fil-A has also offered to host the baby’s birthday bash. Perhaps by then she’ll be downing the Spicy Deluxes with glee.
