Amazon, mothership of all online retailers, is holding its fourth annual Amazon Prime Day (and a half) starting at 3 p.m. on July 16th. If you're not already familiar, it's a bigtime sale in the middle of summer for Amazon Prime members. Fair warning to your bank account, it's basically Christmas in July. For 36 hours, they're offering steep discounts across their site—and at Whole Foods this year—for members. Some of the biggest deals to be had are on Amazon's own products like the Echo with Alexa, Amazon Fresh, Amazon Prime Pantry and Amazon Basics. If you've been dreaming of telling Alexa to add milk to your shopping list as you bake away in the kitchen, now's the time to take the plunge. Last Prime Day, the biggest selling item was the Echo Dot, so you're not alone in your list-making dreams.
To keep the suspense high, Amazon doesn't say exactly what is going to be on sale, so there's no guarantees that the tea kettle you've had your eye on will be on the megalist of discounts, but pro tip, if there is something you want to watch, add it to your shopping list now and keep your eyes peeled on the 16th and 17th.
Last year, you could score an Instant Pot for 30% off, which is no small chunk of change. If you're lucky it'll be on sale again this year. Build up to the shopping frenzy has started already with daily deals that you can check out on the Prime Day page.
