Tom Brady’s Birthday Cake Weighed 1,200 Pounds
It also featured 250 pounds of sugar and was totally inconsistent with the football star’s diet.

You might expect a birthday cake for Tom Brady to be made up organic vegetables topped with a piece of lean meat, like fish or something, given his notoriously particular diet, but nope.
The cake the New England Patriots rolled out for the team’s star quarterback’s 41st birthday on August 3 was anything but consistent with Brady’s healthy approach to eating.
Clocking in at 1,200 pounds (900 pounds of cake topped by 300 pounds of buttercream) and measuring 12 feet by 12 feet by six inches high, the red-, white- and blue-frosted red velvet cake was made in the shape of Brady’s jersey number – 12 – in the same font as the one on his uniform.
The cake, which, according to the Boston Globe, took six bakers three days to create, actually consisted of 90 individual sheet cakes and includes 2,000 eggs, 250 pounds of sugar, 200 pounds of flour, 150 pounds of butter (unsalted), 150 pounds of shortening, 100 pounds of milk and five pounds of baking powder.
The massive cake, baked by Montilio’s Baking Company in Brockton, Massachusetts, was rolled out at Gillette Stadium during Patriots’ training camp. (The family-owned bakery has created memorable cakes for the Patriots before.) It was served to about 5,000 people, NFL.com reports. We’re guessing Brady wasn’t one of them.
