Häagen-Dazs’ ‘Spirits Collection’ Is Dessert and a Nightcap in One
Kiss Dry January and your 2019 weight-loss resolutions goodbye.

It’s a good thing Dry January and your New Year’s weight-loss resolutions are both in the rear-view mirror (better luck next year) because Häagen-Dazs is blowing them both in one fell swoop. The ice cream maker has just introduced a new line of booze-infused ice creams.
Yes, no more having to decide between indulging in dessert or a nightcap. Häagen-Dazs’s Spirits Collection has a variety of liquors and liqueurs built right in.
And the six pint-packed flavors and one “cookie square” in the lineup sound appropriately decadent: Irish Cream Brownie includes Irish Cream ice cream with chunks of brownie and fudge swirl. Rum Tres Leches factors in white Rum ice cream as well as dulce de leche ribbons and Tres Leches cake pieces.
Bourbon Vanilla Bean Truffle has swirls of spicy Bourbon and bits of chocolate truffle in a vanilla bean ice cream base. Bourbon Praline Pecan, meanwhile, features smooth-bourbon-infused ice cream dappled with brown sugar and crunchy praline pecans. Stout Chocolate Pretzel Crunch is a Stout-infused (of course) chocolate ice cream with fudge and chocolate-covered pretzels mixed in.
The collection also includes a non-dairy dessert — Amaretto Black Cherry Almond Toffee — featuring an Amaretto non-dairy dessert base punctuated with black cherry jam and almond toffee bits.
And for those who prefer to eat their ice cream in boozy-bar form, Häagen-Dazs presents Irish Cream Cookie Squares, which the website describes as “a rich chocolate cookie topped with ice cream that’s infused with Irish Cream before the entire square is dipped in decadent dark chocolate.”
Each treat — priced at $5.29 and rolling out nationwide over the next month or two — contains less than 0.5 percent alcohol by volume. So you’re not gonna get drunk … except maybe on ice-cream love.
