Weird, Yet Intriguing: Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Yogurt Topping
Yogurtland is adding an unusual new topping to its lineup.
Honestly, we're not sure how to feel about this one.
The self-serve, soft-serve frozen yogurt and ice cream chain Yogurtland has announced that it is collaborating with Cheetos to bring its customers a new promotional, limited-time-only topping that is, best as we can tell, actual Flamin’ Hot Crunchy Cheetos, crunched up and ready for sprinkling.
The Cheetos Flamin’ Hot topping will be available at Yogurtland topping bars for the same price as other Yogurtland toppings (no added premium) starting December 2. It is "definitely on the hot side," a Yogurtland spokesperson tells FN Dish.
You can use it to top any flavor yogurt – or even a combination of flavors. If you’re especially adventurous, you could use it to top December’s flavor of the month -- Molasses Gingerbread Cookie, said to taste like "a chewy molasses cookie, straight from the oven, with hints of warm ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg" – or play it safer (not saying "safe" … because Cheetos Flamin’ Hot, people) and use it to top plain tart/vanilla flavor.
"This year we’ve introduced our fans to a variety of new toppings and flavors and Cheetos Flamin’ Hot topping is by far the most unique," Jacob Dubin, marketing leader at Yogurtland, said in a press release. "We know our fans are headed into this holiday season ready to spice things up."
"For years, innovative food mash-ups have been quintessential for our fans making Cheetos more than just their favorite snack – but a part of their lifestyle," Brandi Ray, Cheetos senior director of marketing, said in the same release. "We’re excited to partner with Yogurtland on this new sweet & spicy combination that is bound to be a surprisingly delightful treat for Cheetos and Yogurtland fans alike."
Sweet and spicy is one thing. Cheesy is another. But – who knows? – this could be one of those weird flavor mashups that unexpectedly works. Consider our interest piqued.
