Now You Can Wear Your Love of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos
Forever 21 and Cheetos have teamed up to launch a Flamin’ Hot Cheetos clothing line.
Flamin’ Hot Cheetos are not your average snack food. A few reasons why: 1) lots of people are super obsessed with them, 2) some people are concerned they are bad for your health (unclear) and 3) they have a rags-to-riches origin story so remarkable, a movie about it is currently in development.
Now there is a new reason: The Flamin’ Hot Cheetos brand has now inspired a line of leisurewear at Forever 21.
Launching on Thursday, June 6, the limited-edition Forever 21 x Cheetos summer collection “celebrates the Cheetos fans’ passion for the cult-fave snack with playful statement pieces that bring the ‘Cheetos Look’ to life,” according to a press release.
The line -- which is heavy on the red, orange and yellow -- includes T-shirts, crop tops, sweatshirts, dresses, hats, socks, a clutch, temporary tattoos, and beachwear and gear including women’s and men’s swimsuits, a beach towel, and waterproof slides – all emblazoned with Cheetos Flamin’ Hot and Cheetos Crunchy and logos and imagery. Retail prices – online and at Forever 21 stores nationwide – range from $5 to $30.
“Flamin’ Hot Cheetos fans are so fanatical, and over the past couple of years, we have seen their love for this food illustrated all over pop culture, and in particular, via social media,” Linda Chang, Forever 21 vice president of merchandising, said in an announcement. “We are so honored to be releasing this limited edition capsule!”
“Cheetos is more than a snack brand; we’ve become a lifestyle brand among our fans,” echoed Brandi Ray, senior director of marketing, Frito-Lay North America. “So what better way to embody that lifestyle than with a clothing line in partnership with Forever 21 – another brand with an incredibly passionate fan base similar to Cheetos.”
The capsule collection is available only for a limited time, so those who want to wear their love of spicy, cheese-dusted snack foods on their sleeves (or across their chests or on their shorts) will probably want to get ‘em while they’re … hot.
