Attention PSL Fans! You NEED to Try Starbucks' New Pumpkin Drink
Say hello to the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew.
PSL fans, listen up!
It’s almost the day you’ve been waiting for all year. That’s right — Pumpkin Spice Lattes are officially dropping tomorrow, Aug. 27. However, before you rush to your nearest Starbucks to order a PSL in your fave form (hot, iced or Frappuccino), wait until you hear about the newest pumpkin drink to grace the coffee giant’s menu.
For the first time in over 10 years, Starbucks is releasing a brand new pumpkin-flavored beverage. Meet the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew — aka the only drink you’ll be sipping on this fall.
According to Starbucks, the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew is comprised of cold brew (duh), vanilla syrup and a sweet vanilla cold foam that’s been mixed with a *special* pumpkin spice sauce. It’s finished with a sprinkle of pumpkin spice topping (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves).
Basically, this drink is the PSL’s colder, frothier sister, and it totally lives up to the hype.
Disclaimer: I’m not a huge cold brew person. As I’ve noted before, I’m just not super into the taste of coffee. When I do order a coffee-based drink, it’s usually loaded with vanilla, chai tea or chocolate to mask the coffee flavor. But when Starbucks invites you to try out their newest pumpkin-flavored coffee concoction, you don’t say no.
And boy, am I glad that I tried it! To say that the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew blew my mind would be an understatement. I didn’t like it … I LOVED it.
The first sip of the drink is pretty sweet. It’s hard not to get a mouthful of the sugary, pumpkin foam that sits on top of the cold brew. But after that first sip, the drink gets a lot better. The smoothness and flavor of the cold brew balances out the sweetness of the foam, creating an overall nutty and refreshing flavor.
We were also able try out the OG Pumpkin Spice Latte to compare, and I have to say that the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew takes the crown as the best pumpkin drink of the season. Obviously, you can’t go wrong with a classic PSL, but in my opinion the cold brew version boasts better flavors and packs more of a punch.
Grab it while you can. Just like the PSL, the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew will be available at Starbucks for a limited time starting tomorrow, Aug. 27.
