Deeply satisfying, completely mesmerizing: That’s how we would describe this TikTok video of a burrito being rolled … perfectly.
Obviously we’re not the only ones, the video, posted on January 9 by TikToker and former Taco Bell employee @marinahd94 (a.k.a. Chicagoan Marina Hart, whose account declares “Pop Culture is my love language”) has racked up 36.3 million viewers … and counting.
“Can you roll my burrito on your night off from Taco Bell?” Hart has subtitled the viral video.
In the video, we watch hands spread, roll, fold and tuck.
The video has caught the attention of Taco Bell, which commented, “Your technique is flawless.”
“all I ever want to do is make you proud,” Hart responded.
The video has garnered more than 19,900 comments, many of which can be fairly represented by this one by TikToker @harb: “this is very intimate.”

Others wished for more information about technique, and Hart followed up with a detailed how-to, in which her hands are joined by her husband’s in attempting a roll:
“In case anyone was looking or an actual tutorial of a burrito roll or a wrap roll, I wanted to show you the official envelope … roll. And it’s a fun thing to do. It’s a fun roll. It’s a fun roll to do with a partner,” she says in voiceover. “I’m going to use my husband as an example, and teach him and teach me.”
Hart then narrates each move: “So we’re going to spread it down the center and then you’re going to take the bottom and roll it over and tuck it in. Make sure it’s tucked in nice and good,” she counsels. “And then you’re going to take the two little sides and make sure they’re tight in, and then roll from the center and roll out, and you’re good.”

In response to a commenter who called the tutorial “a modern version of the clay scene in [the movie] Ghost,” Hart posted a third burrito video, featuring more two-handed rolling set to the strains of the Righteous Brothers’ “Unchained Melody,” just like the iconic scene from the movie.
“I’m going to retire from burrito rolling and filming now,” she captioned that one.
Still, we were left with questions, so we reached out to Hart, and she answered them:
Is this the official Taco Bell fold you learned as an employee?
Yes! Learned at Taco Bell! I worked there for four years during high school and college. We were a busy store, so we constantly were rolling burritos. My managers each had a way they preferred to roll for efficiency, but that roll was our standard.
Do you have any additional tips to share with readers who want to attempt your burrito fold?
I think making sure you heat up the tortilla before you [roll] so it is more pliable for the fold is super important. And making sure you use a tortilla that is bigger than the intended ingredients amount...if you can. If not, squeeze it in there! Tucking in the sides is the most important part of the roll, so you don't have ingredients falling out as soon as you pick it up.
Were you surprised when your fold went mega viral?
I was sooo surprised it blew up in the way that it did. I've had other rolling videos do well on TikTok, but this was like a whole new level for me 😂.
As for the partner fold, Hart says her husband is “a reluctant hand model, but is getting a kick out of it, too.”
Glad he’s rolling with it …
