The Only Recipe You Need for National Ice Cream Day
The big day is Sunday, BTW.

I have to confess: I do not own an ice cream maker. I know, I know, and here I am telling you that National Ice Cream Day is this weekend and you totally need to make homemade ice cream. The thing is, you don't need one to make this nostalgic treat.
Do you have a 9x5 loaf pan? You're good to go!
So, you already know this super creamy dessert doesn't require any special equipment — which is awesome. But what I also love about this recipe is that it is so easy to customize. Have a kid who's a fan of chocolate and chocolate only? Make the ice cream recipe as is. Love yourself some Rocky Road? Swirl in crushed chocolate-covered almonds and mini marshmallows after the chocolate base has been in the freezer for about two hours. Once you've added in your mix-ins, simply return the pan to the freezer so the ice cream can continue to set. Either way, you'll be able to enjoy a homemade bowl of deliciousness in about five hours.
And that brings me to the only warning I have about making no-churn ice cream: Once you see how easy it is, you'll never want to be without, National Ice Cream Day or not.
