What to Watch: Mexican Food Madness, Chopped All-Stars Finale and Iron Chef America Tournament Premiere

David Lang, 2011, Television Food Network, G.P.
This weekend, it's all about Mexican food and a night of serious competition with the finale of Chopped All-Stars and premiere of Iron Chef America: Tournament of Champions.
Start your Saturday morning with Paula, who's cooking a feast of sloppy but delicious Tex-Mex inspired recipes with her friend Cheryl. Later in the morning, Giada makes modern interpretations of Mexican dishes. On Sunday morning, Guy's cooking a south-of-the-border feast. And on Sandwich King, Jeff is making Mexican wraps.
On Sunday evening tune in to all the competition, starting with a new episode of Cupcake Wars, where the bakers compete for a chance to serve their goods at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival. Then it's the finale of Chopped All-Stars. Watch to see if Sunny, Gavin, Scott or Laila takes the championship. And last, it's the premiere of Iron Chef America: Tournament of Champions, in which Iron Chef battles Iron Chef. In this first battle, Geoffrey Zakarian is up against Alex Guarnaschelli.
Paula's in the kitchen with her best baker friend, Cheryl Day, laughing and making a delicious mess! First on the menu is a Pork, Tomatillo and Green Chile Stew. To cool their palates, Paula makes her Tex-Mex Cornbread Salad With Buttermilk Dressing. Then it gets really messy as they make Sloppy Joe Tacos, and finally, Cheryl shares her delicious recipe for Dulce de Leche Pie.
Giada takes inspiration from L.A.'s great Mexican food to host a Mexican feast for friends. She prepares a menu of modern Mexican dishes like Stuffed Red Pepper Rellenos, Chipotle Shrimp and Arugula Salad, Tres Leches Tiramisu and Watermelon, Strawberry and Tequila Agua Fresca.
In honor of family vacation memories, Guy Fieri is cooking up some Mexican food. He starts off with Stuffed Snapper Veracruz. The fish is stuffed with a mixture of onions, tomatoes, chiles, capers, olives and oregano, and topped off with crispy tortilla strips and a squeeze of fresh lime. Finish it off with a cold glass of beer. Next, Guy's making a Red Quinoa and Citrus Salad, packed with orange segments, jicama, red onion and toasted almonds in a cilantro-lime dressing.
Jeff explores his favorite Mexican food in Chicago with best friend and cousin, Joe, setting out to find the city's best burrito. Back in the kitchen, Jeff shows Joe his own take on the classic Mexican wrap.
Four bakers are returning for redemption and a chance to serve their winning cupcakes alongside world-renowned chefs at one of the most exclusive food events in the country, the South Beach Wine & Food Festival in Miami. Food Network's Sandwich King, Jeff Mauro, is the guest judge.
Four returning All-Stars champions compete for $50,000 toward charitable causes that are very meaningful to them. Two of the surprises in the first basket are a super salty veggie and a super fresh seafood item. Then, cheddar-filled pretzels and suckling goat make the entree round very interesting. The two remaining competitors take on freeze-dried grapes and marrow bones in the dessert round. Who will have the best ingredient transformations and win the title of All-Stars champion and $50,000 for charity?
In this first round of Iron Chef America: Tournament of Champions, Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian faces off against Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli. The winner of this single-elimination contest goes on to battle Iron Chef Symon in round 2. The judges are G. Garvin, Trisha Yearwood and Simon Majumdar.
