Start the weekend off with an array of comforting recipes: First, Ree Drummond has hot soups that hit the spot. The cast of The Kitchen is doing up brunch with tips, recipes and cocktails. Giada De Laurentiis is all about festive desserts to impress guests. Guy Fieri's making Italian coastal cuisine that's refreshing and comforting. And Daphne Brogdon is whipping up classic comfort food for a friend.
On Sunday night, take a seat for three hours of competition beginning with an episode of Guy's Grocery Games: Family Style in which teams of brothers and sisters work together. Next, the Boot Camp recruits on Worst Cooks in America are playing a game of Family Food in order to gain an advantage in the cooking challenge. And chefs are in for torture as they must contend with sabotages on Cutthroat Kitchen, including one involving cooking tacos on a tiki torch.
Ree whips up four stunning soups, starting with the kid-favorite Hamburger Soup. Tomato Soup with Parmesan Croutons makes an incredible make-ahead freezer dish. Sausage, Potato and Kale Soup is a one-pot wonder, and her Spinach Soup is liquid soul food.
The Kitchen co-hosts are sharing their best brunch ideas, starting with Katie Lee's oven-baked Banana Dutch Baby Pancake, plus brand-new ways to use pomegranate and tasty tricks for your waffle iron. Disney's Chef Stephen shares the secrets to making eggs Benedict for a crowd. Geoffrey Zakarian tops it off with a classic brunch Bellini while the hosts share what they're into this winter.
Giada makes delectable desserts that would be perfect for a fancy party. A Walnut Rosemary Tart with Orange Chantilly Cream and an Espresso Cake with Tuscan Liquor Buttercream and Caramel Glass are sure to impress.
Guy gets his seafood on, Italiano style! First up, brandade, a creamy fish spread he's serving up with grilled sourdough toast. Next, Mixed Seafood Salad packed with shrimp, scallops and calamari. Last but not least is his White Bean Tahini Puree with Toasted Pitas; you have to see how Guy sneaks seafood into this recipe!
Daphne invites her friend actress Molly Culver over for a welcome home dinner. For the main dish, Daphne makes Pan-Roasted Chicken with Creamy Mustard Sauce. She's also making comforting Horseradish Mashed Potatoes, plus incredible Crispy Brussels Sprouts and a classic Brogdon family dessert, Cafe Bengali.
Four sets of siblings square off, first making a family feast using a measly five ingredients! Three families move on to make something stuffed using Guy's Grocery List of weird foodstuff. Then, the stakes are high as two families attempt to make an upscale dinner with strip steak and a $7 budget! The family that pulls off that feat better be fast on their feet if they want to win up to $20,000 in the Triple G Shopping Spree.
Chef Anne and Chef Tyler test the recruits' knowledge of food, putting the teams head-to-head in an effort to gain recipe steps through food trivia. As the recruits attempt to cut down the competition, they learn and execute knife skills to prepare their dishes. They all make paella, some ending up with fewer bandages than others.
One chef has to cook fish tacos on tiki torches, then one chef has to make pasta salad using water harvested from a patio mister. Finally, one chef has to bake an apple pie inside apples.
