What to Watch: It's All About Chocolate on Food Network
This weekend express your love for chocolate by watching a whole block of chocolate-themed episodes from Ree Drummond, the cast of The Kitchen, Giada De Laurentiis and a special Outrageous Chocolate episode. Then tune in for Valentine's Day-themed competition on Guy's Grocery Games and see what Alton Brown has in store for the chefs on a new episode of Cutthroat Kitchen.
In addition, Daphne Brogdon has a girls' night out party, and on Worst Cooks in America, the recruits cook for their loved ones.
Ree is spilling the cocoa beans on her love for all things chocolate with Ladd's Chocolate Pie, fun and delicious Chocolate Message Cookies, and a totally retro Chocolate Fondue. Ree's even admitting her passion for Chocolate-Covered Potato Chips. All her chocolate secrets are out!
It's a Valentine's Day celebration with plenty of chocolate on this episode of The Kitchen. The hosts prepare a romantic meal with Geoffrey Zakarian's Dark Chocolate Mousse, a tender filet mignon with mushroom red wine sauce from Katie Lee, and two mouthwatering side dishes from Marcela Valladolid and Jeff Mauro. The Kitchen crew gets crafty with new ideas for valentines made out of chocolate, including adorable chocolate kiss critters and edible chocolate vessels. A master chocolatier joins in on the fun with a silky-smooth dark chocolate truffle recipe and out-of-this-world flavors to spice it up! Geoffrey caps it all off with his take on a chocolate martini.
Get ready for a deep dive into the world of Outrageous Chocolate! This special features everything from chocolate sculptures like a life-size tiger to a 900-pound white chocolate Eros. See the inner workings of the factory behind the world's largest chocolate bar, indulge in decadently rich chocolate cakes with gold-dusted chocolate dragons, and visit a kitchen serving a menu of nothing but exquisitely decadent chocolate dishes like chocolate pizza and chocolate pasta. It's going to be one outrageously sweet ride!
With a little TLC, Giada shares some of her favorite chocolate Valentine's Day treats, like Brazilian-Style Truffles, Double-Chocolate Glazed Doughnuts and Red Velvet Whoopie Pies with Chocolate Cream Cheese Filling.
Daphne is throwing a girls' night in party for her daughter and her niece. Daphne's got a special menu, perfect in between painting nails and a dance party, with snackable Sausage Rolls, Crispy Garbanzo Beans, Vivien's Favorite Shrimp, and fudgy and cakey Chocolate Dream Brownies with Marshmallow Creme.
In Triple G's Valentine's Day special, chefs discover that Guy Fieri's gift of chocolate is not the perfect match for their savory starter. Next, will there be enough time or money to shop for and prepare their desserts? Then, our finalists must grab items for a candlelight dinner while repeatedly trading groceries in a crazy game of Musical Carts. One chef will romance the judges and win the ultimate Valentine's Day surprise — up to $20,000 in the shopping spree.
The recruits are down to the final four when they are faced with their most-important challenge so far. They re-create their signature dishes from the first episode, using their newfound skills and food knowledge, showing who has truly improved and who is still a Worst Cook. The next day, the recruits are shocked to find they will be cooking for their family members. As this is a blind tasting, the recruits risk being sent home by their very own loved ones.
In a special chocolate episode, one chef has to make molten chocolate cake — without chocolate! Then, two chefs have to make a savory chocolate dish with fish and eggs. Finally, one chef has to work a shift on Alton Brown's chocolate conveyor belt.
