It was an Italian-versus-Italian face-off in the third round of tonight's Heat 3 tournament battle as Chefs Fabio Viviani and Rocco DiSpirito competed, with whoopee pies on the menu. Since both guys had substantial sums left in their bank accounts, they were able to sabotage each other, and each person ended up with one challenge apiece. For Fabio that meant a pair of whoopee cushions strapped to the bottom of his shoes and the mandate to keep them from deflating lest he be fined — and let out some, um, unmistakable noises. But despite his stepping struggles, Fabio managed to outcook Rocco, who prepared a lighter take on a traditional whoopee pie while facing a sabotage of duplicate side-by-side cooking, and scored a coveted place in the upcoming finale.
