This weekend, wintry favorites are on the menu as the Food Network chefs settle in for nights filled with comfort food and even more holiday celebrations. First on Saturday morning, The Kitchen welcomes The Today Show’s Natalie Morales, and the co-hosts offer tips on making the most of leftover holiday sweets. After that, Guy Fieri is demonstrating his Smoked Prime Rib just in time for the holidays on a new episode of Guy’s Big Bite.
Then on Sunday, YouTube sensation James Wright Chanel gets his chance to bake with Patti LaBelle on the special Patti LaBelle’s Holiday Pies. Next, Giada De Laurentiis has an elegant holiday feast that doesn’t take all day to prepare, and then Bobby Flay is cooking up new brunch recipes for those wintry weekends. On Sunday night, four returning champs fight it out for the last spot in the finale of Guy’s Grocery Games: Tournament of Champions. Next, the last three bakers show off their decorating skills in the hopes of taking home the win on the finale of Holiday Baking Championship. Then, Alton Brown auctions off a swaying hula prep station on a new Cutthroat Kitchen.
The Kitchen is kicking off winter with Sunny Anderson's slow-cooker beef stew. The Today Show's Natalie Morales stops by to make her Chocolate Winter Flan, and the Kitchen Helpline is open to help solve winter cooking mistakes. Plus, learn how to make the most of leftover holiday sweets and warm up with Geoffrey Zakarian's Black Russian cocktail!
Guy Fieri is pulling out all the stops with a meal worthy of any special occasion or holiday. For the main course, there's Smoked Prime Rib, seared with fresh herbs and then sliced and served with Brown Butter Garlic Sauce. To go with it, Guy makes lobster hush puppies, packed with juicy meat and served with horseradish cream sauce.
Patti LaBelle is jumping into the kitchen to bake up some fun and delicious pies with her No. 1 Patti Pie Fan, YouTube sensation James Wright Chanel. Of course, the headliner is Patti's family's Sweet Potato Pie recipe; it definitely makes you belt out a high note and scream out Patti's name.
Giada hosts Christmas dinner for family and friends, showing how to create an elegant feast without spending all day in the kitchen. She cooks a unique menu that represents Christmas dishes from various regions across Italy, including Tortellini in Parmesan Brodo, Risotto with Clams, Braised Lamb Shanks with Escarole and Radicchio, and a Chocolate Candy Cane Tower.
Bobby prepares a warm and hearty brunch that's perfect for entertaining on those cold weekend mornings. His menu features Gingerbread Pumpkin Waffles with Buttermilk-Rum Caramel Syrup, and Migas-Filled Chile Rellenos with Pulled Chicken, Tomato Salsa and Chihuahua Sauce. He toasts the meal with a Cranberry-Orange Cinnamon Vodka Tonic.
Four returning champs first must prove they're upper-crust by making a pizza without using any traditional pizza ingredients. Next, they search the store for clues to that lead to the mandatory ingredients in their best Asian dish. Then, the finalists must face the feared Food Wheel and make an extravagant dinner using a randomly selected protein and money amount.
The last three bakers must show off their decorating chops in order to finally be crowned Holiday Baking Champion! First, they must bake and beautifully decorate a sugar cookie tree. Then, in the final heat, the bakers need to transform their assigned holiday tradition into an intricately decorated cake.
